Reviving this full-time office would give us a person whose job combines keeping the town centre free of litter, they would be equipped with a double bin on wheels, brush, litter picker, shovel etc. and town promotional literature. They would devise a programme of cleaning that covered historic Dorchester over the course of a week, they would be visible, approachable and knowledgeable and would show both locals and visitors that we DO take a pride in our town and are working constantly to keep it looking the way it should. They could be given an interesting uniform and the humble status of roadsweeper would be upgraded as we'd all benefit from a consistently better presented town centre. |
